Helsinki Vantaa Airport is well-served by public transportation, with taxis on hand outside the terminal buildings and bus connections running frequently between the airport and Helsinki city centre as well as other destinations. The Tuusula-Helsinki road (highway 45) and the Keha III airport road offer fast and easy road access to the city centre.
Several nearby hotels offer free shuttle bus transfers to and from the airport, so it is a good idea to enquire about these services when making your reservation.
Travel by Buses
There are bus stops located outside both airport terminals, though the bus stop situated outside the International Terminal is much busier, with more buses travelling to a wider range of destinations. Public buses from the airport provide transportation to Helsinki city centre (bus no. 415, 451 and 615) as well as to destinations in Vantaa, Tuusula and Espoo. Buses to Helsinki take approximately 40 minutes to make the journey. The Finnair city bus is a private coach service also offering transportation to the city centre.

Airport Taxi Yellow Line operates shuttle buses to destinations across Helsinki and its surrounds.
Travel by Hotel Shuttles
A number of hotels offer free shuttle bus transfers to and from the airport including Ramada Airport Hotel, Bonus Inn Airport Hotel, Holiday Inn Garden Court, Comfort Hotels Pilotti and Cumulus Airport Hotel. For maximum convenience, it is best to enquire about this service when making your hotel reservation and to pre-book a shuttle if possible.
Travel by Taxi Cabs
There are taxi ranks located outside the Arrivals Halls of both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, with taxis taking about 30 minutes to reach the city centre from the airport. Taxis accept cash as well as some credit and debit cards. Airport Taxi Yellow Line runs taxis and shuttle buses to destinations all over Helsinki and its surrounds, and the agency has desks in both the Domestic and International terminals. Suomen Airport Taxi, Vantaan Taksiekeskus and TaxiPoint also operate services from Helsinki Vantaa Airport. For individuals or small groups, taxi pooling is an option for cutting transport costs to the city centre.
